What We’re Looking For:

Are you a passionate Audiologist eager to make a difference in students’ lives? Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:

  • Education: Master’s degree or Doctorate in Audiology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Active Colorado Audiologist license issued by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
  • Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Experience: School-based or pediatric experience preferred but not required.
  • Language Proficiency: Bilingual skills are a plus, though not mandatory.

 
Your Role:

As a school-based Audiologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that students with hearing challenges receive the support they need to access their education. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assess Hearing Needs: Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations, including hearing screenings and diagnostic assessments, to identify hearing impairments that impact student learning.
  • Provide Support: Recommend and implement hearing assistive technology, including FM systems and hearing aids, ensuring accessibility for students in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with educators, speech-language pathologists, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams to develop effective intervention strategies.
  • Educate and Advocate: Provide training and resources to teachers, parents, and school staff on hearing health, classroom accommodations, and communication strategies.
  • Monitor Student Progress: Track and document students’ audiological progress, making necessary adjustments to interventions as needed.
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain accurate records and ensure all audiological services adhere to Colorado Department of Education (CDE) guidelines and best practices.
