What We’re Looking For:
Are you a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) dedicated to empowering students and schools? Here's what you’ll need to join our team:

  • Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Licensure: Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license issued by the Texas Advisory Board of Occupational Therapy (TABOT).
  • Certification: Current CPR certification.
  • Language Proficiency: Bilingual skills preferred but not required.

Your Role:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will support the implementation of occupational therapy services that help students develop essential functional skills and achieve greater independence within the school setting. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), your responsibilities will include:

  • Support Assessments: Assist the supervising OT in gathering data and conducting screenings to help identify students’ needs related to motor skills, sensory processing, self-help abilities, and classroom performance.
  • Implement Therapy Plans: Carry out individual or group therapy sessions as directed by the OT, following established goals from the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). Use evidence-based techniques and therapeutic activities to support student engagement, participation, and progress in school-related tasks.
  • Monitor and Document Progress: Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, student responses, and outcomes. Communicate observations and changes to the supervising OT to help inform adjustments in intervention strategies.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school staff to support generalization of skills across settings. Participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences when requested, contributing insights on student performance and therapy progress.
  • Maintain Professional Standards: Adhere to ethical and legal standards set by TABOT and school policies. Ensure safe, supportive, and student-centered practices during all service delivery.

Your expertise and dedication will empower students to develop the skills needed to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
